Why Calgary?
I love Calgary! I think it’s a great town and when crafting this blog, I started to think about why I love Calgary…As a city, Calgary has a lot to offer, but the best thing about Calgary is it’s everyone’s town! Anyone can be happy in Calgary because there’s something for everyone. Who wouldn’t want to live in a city like that?!
Thinking about why I love Calgary got me thinking about why other Calgarians love Calgary…so, I asked some.
“I love Calgary because you get a little bit of all that is great in Canada – the prairies to the east, the mountains to the west… The city itself has tons to do – no excuse to be bored. Although the weather can be crazy and unpredictable, I love that we still get 4 seasons (sometimes all in one day!), and love the warm chinook winds that make winter that much more bearable. I live in Valley Ridge, and I love it because there’s lots of nature close-by, awesome pathways that take you right to the river, beautiful valleys, and right before city limits so just a skip and a jump from the mountains.” - Amy, Valley Ridge, Calgary, AB
“Why do I love Calgary? Hmmm.. Lots of job opportunities, fast growing communities, The bow, Princess Island Park, Chinooks, close to the mountains, The Flames, lots of Restaurants to choose from, lots of bike trails/walking paths, major concerts, The Calgary Stampede, Callaway Park, All the festivals (Folk Fest, Cari Fest, Africa Day, Expo Latino, Marda Gra, Sun and Salsa, Global Fest, Film Festivals, Taste of Calgary, etc) COP for skiers, lots of golf courses…you get the picture?!” - Gwen, Haysboro, Calgary, AB
